The Romantic Hotel Post is situated in the centre of Villach´s pedestrian area, only a few minutes walk from the Congress Center. The hotel was built around 1500 and disposes of comfortable, quiet rooms with view to the garden. Relax in the wellness area at the third floor with its exclusive roof terrace, which offer you a breathtaking view to the mountains. With the day and night permission to drive to the hotel`s guarded car park our guests enjoy the advantages of a hotel in the city with its many offers.

The 4-star Romantik Hotel Post is located right in the pedestrian zone of the spa town of Villach, making it an ideal starting point for business and leisure guests. The historical building was built around 1500, with a splendid cross vault and a Renaissance façade. It offers cosy rooms, partly with a quiet, garden-side location and a waterfall shower. Austria's oldest traditional hotel offers 5 conference rooms for up to 80 people. The wellness area on the third floor, over the roofs of Villach, features an adventure shower, aromatic and salt-water baths, tropical rain and cold fog, a tepidarium and a sauna with light therapy. A small observatory with telescope will be installed soon.

The landscape surrounding Villach is a jewel: In the south, the peak of the Mittagskogel (2,145 metres) dominates the scenery. At its foothills, only 7 kilometres from Villach, Lake Faak, with its light-blue water, is situated. In the southwest, the Dobratsch (2,167 metres), also called the Alp of Villach, catches the eye. It is a natural park and can be reached by car on a road starting in Villach-Möltschach. In the northeast you can see Landskron Castle, dating back to the 16th century. It is situated on the access road to Lake Ossiach, at the feet of the Gerlitzen mountain (1,900 metres), which is a popular ski resort and can be reached by cable car. In the south of Villach the spa resort of Warmbad was already known to the Romans, who cured their rheumatisms there.

Please note that the hotel is located in a pedestrian zone, where GPS systems are not reliable. When you arrive by car, please use the following directions: Coming from Slovenia, Vienna or Klagenfurt, take the exit “Ossiachersee”. Continue in the direction of the centre (“Zentrum”) to the train station (“Bahnhof”). At the station continue straight ahead to the next traffic light, turn left over the bridge, then left again at the next traffic light and then straight ahead into the pedestrian zone. Then turn left. Then turn right twice (into the first lane in each case) and enter the interior courtyard of Romantik Hotel Post. Coming from Italy, take the exit “Faakersee” and turn right in the direction of the centre (“Zentrum”). Go as far as Hausergasse and turn right. Go through the centre to the Interspar supermarket. At the traffic light turn right into the pedestrian zone, then turn left. Then turn right twice (into the first lane in each case) and enter the interior courtyard of Romantik Hotel Post. Coming from Salzburg and Germany, take the exit “West” and continue in the direction of the centre (“Zentrum”) on Tiroler Straße, past the Stadthalle. At the next traffic light turn left into Steinwenderstraße and then immediately turn right. Then go straight ahead into the pedestrian zone. At the end of the lane turn left once and right twice (into the first lane in each case) and enter the interior courtyard of Romantik Hotel Post.

The "Stadtrestaurant zur Post" provides the exquisite cuisine (1 Gault Millau toque) of the Alpine Adriatic region. From lunch to a more course dinner the dishes are served in a stylish ambience. Selected dishes from fish to carinthian specialities gurantee a palatal delight . To that we serve selected wines from Austria and Italy. The list of beverages provides the proper for each taste. Our cafè is a meeting place for young and old. In fine weather our garden invites you to stay for a while and when it rains there is enough space to escape inside. Above all our home made bakery and the rich offer of snacks and delicious coffees are reason enough to drop in. In the cold season we have various hot drinks ready for you.

Your arrival is guaranteed until 16:00. If you arrive later, please let us know and give us your credit card number for guaranteed reservation with late arrival. In case of late cancellation (after 18:00) we charge an 80% cancellation fee.
