Alternative toll-free-route from north: Take the Munich to Salzburg motorway. Leave the motorway at Siegsdorf and continue via Inzell, Lofer, Saalfelden and Zell am See to Bad Gastein. D.) Alternative toll-free-route from south: From Villach take the A10 “Tauernautobahn” motorway.
